She was the daughter of Frank Davidson and Annie Christina Dearson who married 2 Oct 1894 in Milam County. She may have been born there or in Burleson County where the family was in 1900. By 1910 the family was in Callahan County in West Texas, an area in which Mary would remain for most of her life. On 7 Aug 1915, she married Ira Marvin Pittman in Taylor County. In 1920 and 1930, they were living with his parents. They had three known children and divorced between 1930 and 1940. On 9 May 1946, she married Martin Luther Vaughn in Abilene after his first wife died in 1941.
