He first married Mary Elizabeth Davidson on 7 Aug 1915 in Taylor County, Texas. They had three known children together, all boys. Sometime between 1930 and 1940 they divorced and he married Glady June (last name unknown). In 1940 Ira and Gladys were living in Laredo, Webb County, Texas. He was working at a service station and she was teaching at a public school. They said they were in the same place in 1935. She was the informant for his death certificate when he died in Tucson.
