Cecil Clarence Taylor departed this life on Dec. 26, 2010. He was born March 2, 1919 in Chilicothe, Texas to Harrison and Virgie Taylor. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sep. 29, 2010 at Bible Baptist Church, Floydada, Texas at 2 p.m. and burial will follow at Petersburg Cemetery in Petersburg, Texas.

Cecil graduated from Petersburg High, served in World War II and then returned to Petersburg to farm. Cecil was a deacon, Sunday School teacher and song leader for over 50 years at Bible Baptist Church in Floydada.

Cecil and Lila Jenkins were married Dec. 25, 1942. They have four children: Dave and wife Becky of Lubbock, Sharon of Keller, Robert and wife Wynon of Ralls and Arlene and husband Dave of Capistrano Beach, Calif.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; and a sister, Floudie Greene.

His survivors are his wife, Lila; his children; and two sisters, Evelyn Kurklin Davis of Petersburg and Margie Sue of Floydada.
