Alfred Markley, 81, a resident of Morgan county for the past 33 years, died Friday at his home, 810 State st., at 7 p.m. He had been in ill health for the past several years.
Markley was born Jan 13, 1870 in Atchison county, Missouri.
He moved to Nebraska in 1890 and then following year married Lizzie M. Zessin at Nebraska City. In 1918 they moved from Humboldt, Kas., to the Weldon valley where he farmed for a number of years, later starting a general merchandise store.
In 1912 he retired and moved to Fort Morgan.
Besides his wife, Markley is survived by two daughters and four sons; Mrs. Erma Jones of Denver, Mrs. Lula Flack of Greeley, Jesse L. of Fort Morgan, Ferdinand of Fort Collins, Houston of Loveland and Sever of Denver. There are 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, Six brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the First Presbyterian church with Rev. F. L. McCormick officiating.
Interment will be in Riverside cemetery. The Cutler Jolliffe
mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
