Peter Hiller was a member of the Swan-Hughes-VanMeter Party that came to the Tenmile Country about 1767-68. The Hiller (sometimes spelled Heller, etc.) Family seems to have come from Prince George's County, MD, where the name is found as early as 1739. Peter Hiller left a will in which he named a son, Peter Hiller and a daughter, Elizabeth Hiller (Will Book 2, pp. 17). Orphan Court records disclose that William Hiller was another son, who shared in the estate (O.C. Docket 2. pp.17).
