James (Jim) Burgess of the Karns community passed away June 30, 2011 at his home. He was a member of Edgemoor Baptist Church. He was self-employed for 35 years as a milk distributor and then was employed with the Anderson County Sheriff's Department for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie & Fannie Burgess and nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors:
Wife of 65 years: Imojean (Jean} Burgess of the Karns Community (formerly of Claxton Community).
Daughter: Carolyn & husband Kent French of Heiskell
Son: James A (Jim) & wife Sandy Burgess of Knoxville
Grandson: Phillip Burgess & wife Juliann
Granddaughter: Angela Prator & husband Scott
Great-Grandchildren: Savannah and Landon Prator
Sister: Joyce York
Several nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 2, 2011 from 6-8 P.M. at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral to follow at 8:00P.M. in the chapel with Rev. Tom Byrge officiating.
Family & friends will meet on Sunday, July 3rd at 3:30P.M. at Zion Cemetery for graveside services. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of the arrangements.
