James A. Featherngill, one of the pioneers of the county, died at his home in Nineveh township, last Friday morning of heart disease, aged 68 years. He stood prominent among the citizens of the county and will be sadly missed.

Martin Sellers and Thomas Featherngill have qualified in the sum of $6,000 each as executors of the last will and testament of J. A. Featherngill, deceased. Nelson Sellers and D. S. Featherngill are the bondsmen of the former, and D. F. Featherngill and Nelson Sellers for the latter.

James A. Featherngill, was born in Oldham Co. Ky., July 17, 1817. Come to Johnson county with his parents in 1829, where he had lived since. Was married to Elizabeth Jolliff in Oct. 1839, to them were born four children, one of whom is now living. His wife Elizabeth died July 24, 1850. He married the second wife, Mrs. Emily Harden, Feb. 1852. She departed this life July 17, 1855. After which he married the third wife, Miss Sarah Barnett, March 13, 1859, to whom was born three children, all of whom are now living. Mr. Featherngill died Aug. 14, 1885, age 68 years and 27 days. He was as a neighbor, obliging and accommodating, as a friend true and confidential, as a husband kind and generous, as a father affectionate and firm, as a citizen honorable and upright. The funeral took place on the premises of the deceased, in a beautiful grove, adjoining the dooryard. The exercises were conducted by Elder Miller. After which the body was followed by a large concourse of relatives and friends to the graveyard on the old homestead, and there deposited to await the Resurrection Morn. N. M. R.

James Allen Featherngill died last Friday, aged about seventy years. He was a good citizen and leaves a wife and four children, besides a host of friends to mourn his death.
