Thelma A. Leeper, 87, of Kansas City, formerly of Canton, died Friday, January 13, 1995, in North Kansas City Hospital in Kansas City. Born June 3, 1907, in Hannibal, she was a daughter of Otis and Florence Pickett Williams. She married Neal Powell Nov. 28, 1928. He died Dec. 1960. She later married Hollis Leeper May 28, 1966. He died March 10, 1980. Mrs. Leeper was a graduate of Hannibal High School and attended a business college in Hannibal for two years. She had worked at Myron Rath Elevator in Hannibal and the Canton Custom Clearners for several years. She was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include three daughters, Rita Simpson of Kansas City, Teresa Martin of Canton, and Lavon Malatin of Phoenix, Ariz.; three stepdaughters; a brother, W. D. Milton of Hannibal; 11 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Schaller, a brother, John Williams; and a great-grandson Jeremy Day. Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 16, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Canton by the Rev. Dave Cox. Arrangements were handled by Davis Funeral Home in Canton. Music was provided by Chuck Downs. Pallbearers were John Dee Jacobs, Bob Otte, Rick Martin, Bill Richmond, Art Shirey and Norman Roach. Burial was in St. Patrick Cemetery in St. Patrick.
