Jimmy Lawrence Tumblin, 85, of Greenville, husband of the late Helen Hester Tumblin for 60 years, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Eugene T. and Ernie Wilburn Tumblin.
Mr. Tumblin served in the U.S. Army, was the owner of Jimmy's Television Service, and a member of Cherrydale Baptist Church (formerly Morgan Memorial Baptist Church).

His happiest days were lovingly spent as "Papa Jimbo" with his great grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandra T. White (Frank), and Elaine T. Anderson, all of Greenville; grandchildren, Shannon A. Westfall of Taylors, D. Eric Anderson (Lisa) of Travelers Rest, and Kristen W. Cox (Michael) of Raleigh, NC; and his great-grandchildren, Anthony Evett, Alli Anderson, Zachary Westfall, and Emily and Anna Cox.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Donald W. Anderson; a grandson-in-law, Kevin J. Westfall; a brother, Marvin J. Tumblin; and two sisters, Ruby T. Cunningham and Beulah T. Pruitt.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010 at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
