Mrs. Dorothy M. Weitzel of 1229 Seneca Ave., Olean, died Saturday (April 9, 1983) in St. Francis Hospital, following a long illness.
Born June 22, 1918, in Jackson, Mich., she was a daughter of Evan and Nina Johnson Hoffmire. On Sept. 2, 1940, she married Walter A. Weitzel who predeceased her on Dec. 27, 1972.
Surviving are three sons, Thomas F. Weitzel of Shinglehouse, Pa., James E. Weitzel and Frank A. Weitzel, both of Olean; a daughter, Linda Weitzel of Olean; six grandchildren; a brother, Robert Hoffmire of Brant; three sisters, Mrs. Harold (Velma) Cornell of Allegany, Mrs. Charles (Mary Lou) Lynch and Mrs. James (Marg) Hakes, both of North Tonawanda and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Halwig Funeral Home, 117 Hamilton St., Olean, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral and committal services will be held Tuesday (April 12, 1983) at 11 a.m. The Rev. David Wood, pastor of the Obi Community Church, Obi, will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Olean.
