Funeral services for Ethel Davis Hughes, 83, of Route 1 Thompsonville, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church in Thompsonville.
The Rev. Everett Beaty will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thompsonville. Friends may call at 5 p.m. today at the Johnston Funeral Home in Benton.
Mrs. Hughes died at 6:16 p.m. Saturday, Nov 8, 1975 in the Franklin Skilled Care Nursing Unit in Benton. She had been ill several months.
She was the daughter of William A. and Julia A. Darnell Davis. She was married to Lewis J. Hughes. He died in 1955.
She had been a resident of Franklin County most of her life. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church in Thompsonville.
Three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
Survivors are a son, Ruben of Thompsonville; three daughters, Marie Linn of Benton, Easter Parks of Murphysboro; and Margaret Hughes of West Frankfort; Three brothers James O., John I., and Otho Davis, all of Benton; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
