Mrs. Edith Armstrong Dies In Benton

Mrs. Edith Armstrong, 75, of Rt. 3, Benton, died Wednesday at Franklin Hospital after an illness of one month.

She was born Sept 8, 1893, in Hamilton County, the daughter of William and Julia Darnell Davis.

She was a member of the Eakin Grove Baptist Church west of Benton. She was a retired cook for the Hill City School.

She leaves her husband, Joe C. Armstrong of Benton; daughters, Mrs. Ethel Malone of Benton, Mrs. Opal Furlow of Union Grove, Wis., and Mrs. Pearline Goodin of Centralia; sisters, Mrs. Ethel Hughes of Thompsonville, Mrs. Mayme Bigham of Benton; brothers, John Davis, James, Clifford, Orval and Otho, all of Benton and eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, with the Rev. Clyde Gulley and the Rev. Roscoe Gant officiating.
