Funeral services for Mrs. W.C. Milam, 78, of 215 23rd St., Lubbock, were held at 10:30 a.m. today (Thursday) in the First Christian Church with the Rev. Tom Posey, pastor, officiating.
Mrs. Milam, a longtime resident of Memphis before moving to Lubbock several years ago, died about 4 p.m. Tuesday in Lubbock.
She was born Sept. 13, 1885, in Throckmorton and came to Memphis with her family in 1890.
The former Lean [sic] Pearl Fore, Mrs. Milam was united in marriage to William Cicero Milam Nov. 29, 1905, in Memphis. He preceded her in death in 1950.
She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Interment was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Spicer Funeral Home.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Lott of Lubbock; two brothers, Jett R. Fore of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Frank K. Fore of Beverly Hills, Calif.; two sisters-in-laws, Miss Maude Milam of Memphis and Mrs. Felix Cochran of Oklahoma City; two brothers-in-laws, Clyde Milam of Memphis and John Milam of Sudan.
Pall bearers were Bill Maddox, Gerald Knight, Orville Goodpasture, T.B. Rogers, Roy Coleman and E.E. Roberts.
Honorary pall bearers were C.S. Compton, J.G. Gardener, Dr. J.A. Odom, M.E. McNally, Sr., Grover Kesterson and Ben Hillhouse.
