On Dec. 26, 1734 at Farmington, Conn., Elijah m. Abigail Goodrich, dau. of Allen Goodrich (John,2 Ens. William,1) and his first wife Elizabeth Goodrich (David,2 Ens. William,1), b. of record Dec. 14, 1714 at Wethersfield, Conn. She d. Jan. 21, 1809 at Simsbury, Conn., Æ 95 (g.s.). At the time of her death she was residing with the family of her dau. Mary and her husband, Capt. Jonathan Eno.

In memory of the greatly esteemed and much lamented Deacon Elijah Hart, who provided for his own, and served his generation with great diligence and fidelity, even to the last day of his life, was taken suddenly to his inheritance above, on the 3d day of August, 1772, in the 61st year of his age.
