Julia Knox was born in Pickens County, Alabama. Her mother died when she was a baby or quite small and she was reared by an Aunt and Uncle Ned Billingley.


Julia Knox had a half-brother, Harry Carlisle.


Julia Knox married Henry O'Neil Love in 1869 in Alabama. Together they reared 5 children.


Julia Knox and Henry O'Neil Love left Alabama after the birth of their first son, Drue Miller Love. They came to Texas in 1871 and settled in Coldspring, San Jacinto County where they purchased the Moses Davis Plantation.


Henry O'Neil Love and Julia Knox Love had 5 children: Drue Miller, Mamie Ethel Love, John Valentine, Robert Blackburn, and Edward Wendell Love.


All of their children attended college in Huntsville, Texas. Robert became a doctor, Edward, a judge and Drue a teacher, county clerk and county judge. John Valentine Love was a teacher and owned a cotton gin. Mamie Ethel Love married Simeon Carnes Clark and lived in Austin, Travis County.


Julia Knox Love, widowed probably was living with her daughter when she died in Austin Texas April 28, 1918. Her son, Dr. R. B. Love signed the death certificate.


Julia Knox Love was buried next to her husband Henry O'Neil Love in Coldspring, San Jacinto County Texas, in the Oakwood Methodist Cemetery.
