Born January 2, 1919 in Danielsville, Georgia, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late Howard Crook and Willie Crowe Crook.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt A. Brown.
Survivors include sons, Gary Brown of Midland and Terry Brown of Kannapolis; daughters, Latane Key and Melitta Spry and husband, Dennis, all of Kannapolis; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Shadybrook Baptist Church. She retired from the weave room of Cannon Mills, Plant No. 10. She later worked as a nursing assistant at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. At other times, they will be at the home.
