He was a Veteran of the US Army and had retired from Winn-Dixie as a manager in Kannapolis with 39 years of service and later worked for Food Lion for several years. He loved to travel to Mississippi and Georgia. He was preceded by his parents Hoyt Allen and Robbie Lee Brown and sister Melitta Spry.
