"Funeral services for Maude Johnson of Sedgwick were held Friday, August 21 at the Community Presbyterian Church in Sedgwick with Pastor Art Roth officiating. Interment was in the Sedgwick Cemetery.
Mrs Johnson was born to Amanda and Frank Dunlap on June 16, 1889 in Waverly, Illinois, and and died August 18 at the Sedgwick County Nursing Home where she resided since 1986. She was 103 years old.
Maude married Henry Johnson March 28, 1910 in Sutton, Nebraska. They moved to Sedgwick County, Colorado in 1920 where they farmed south of town. The couple had two sons: Leslie of Sedgwick and Melvin of Fresno, California.
Henry died in 1943 and in 1946 Maude moved to Sedgwick where she resided for 43 years. She was a member of Prairie View Club and attended the Methodist and Presbyterian churches. At the time of her death, Maude was one of Sedgwick County's oldest residents. She received an acknowledgement for this from President and Mrs. George Bush.
She is survived by her two sons, one sister, Ruby Jones of Fort Morgan, 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 11 great, great grandchildren."
