Jo Ann Austin James, 28, a lifelong Alaska resident, died Feb. 20 at Alaska Native Medical Center. A funeral service was held at Witzleben Family Funeral Homes & Crematory, Sixth Avenue Chapel with the Rev. Pastor Andy Euler of Faith East Baptist Church officiating. A visitation preceded the service.
Mrs. AustinJames was born Oct. 6, 1960, in Juneau. She had lived in Anchorage the past five years, and was a member of the Sealaska Regional Corporation in Juneau. She leaves her father, Walter Austin Sr.; her mother, Mary Austin; her daughters, Lena Austin and Maryann James, all of Anchorage; her brothers, Walter Austin Jr., of Juneau, Gary Austin, of Seattle, Donald Austin, of Bethel, and David, Pete and Michael Austin, all of Anchorage; her sisters, Lorraine Jacobs and Linda Hazard, both of Anchorage, Marilyne Austin, of Juneau, and Nora Anderson, of Medford, Ore. Burial was in the spring at Anchorage Municipal Cemetery. Service arrangements were by Witzleben Family Homes & Crematory, Sixth Avenue Chapel.
