This is the "second" William McClintic. His father William was born in 1717, in Tyrone, Ireland and died abt 1801. Nancy Shanklin McClintic, his wife was born in 1723 and died abt 1809.

To them were born 4 sons William, Joseph, Robert and Alexander and three daughters.

Three of the sons married sisters. William to Alice Mann, Robert to Jane Mann, and Alexander to Sarah Mann. Two of the sisters married Millhollands and the other Margaret, married Wm Norris March 27, 1788.

William was drafted a revolutionary on February 28, 1778, joined the army on May 17, 1778, under Capt. Andrew Wallace, 8th Virginia regiment. He was dischargaed February 16, 1779. He volunteered In February, 1781, a rifleman under Capt. John Bollar, and was wounded in the battle at Guildord Court House March 15, 1781. He returned to his home on Jackson's River in Bath Co March 1782. He married Alice Mann to whom were born two children, William and Moses.

He died September 13, 1786. His wife afterwards married Wm H Cavendish May 14, 1804. Wm H. Cavendish died August 4, 1818
