Mrs. Susan Ruhl, (nee Shay), died early this morning, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. William Miller, of 717 Guilford street, following a period of Illness covering the past seven weeks. A complication of diseases was attributed as the cause of death. The deceased was aged 81 years, 1 month and 6 days. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She is survived by six children, John, of Myerstown; Mrs. Clara Speck, of Schaefferstown; Mrs. Sara Dodge, of Lebanon; Mrs. William Miller, of Lebanon; Mrs. Robert Haggerty, and Olive, of Reading; Seventeen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Thos. Shay, Williamsport, and Andrew Shay, of Los Angeles, California, and three sisters, Mrs. Jane Lineaweaver, of Annville; Mrs. Hannah Miller, and Mrs. Emma Peters, both of Harrisburg. Rev. Elwood Schwenk, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Lehman Street, near Spruce, officiated at services this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, for the late Mrs. Susan Ruhl, at the residence, 717 Guilford Street. Pall bearers were grandsons of the deceased: William Speck, Allen Speck, Lloyd Speck, Daniel Speck, John Ruhl and Andrew Ruhl. Burial took place at the cemetery adjoining the Reformed church at Kimmerlings. Arnold's undertaking establishment, 713 Chestnut Street, was in charge of the arrangements.
