Perry "Buddy" Rogers, a resident of Flores-ville, Texas, entered into rest Monday, April 9, 2007, at 12:05 p.m., in the Connally Memorial Medical Center in Flores-ville, at the age of 93 years, 6 months, and 5 days.
Buddy was born Oct. 4, 1913 to Perry "Pete" and Ruth Gates Rogers in Floresville. He attended Sunnyside School and was retired from his cattle and horse ranching business that he took over for his dad. Buddy married Shirley Weeky in 1944. She preceded Buddy in death on Feb. 7, 1975.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Blake Rogers and wife Kay; and his sister, Gladine Rogers Kluge.
Buddy is survived by his nephews, Robert B. Kluge and Peter G. Kluge; a niece, Melissa Kluge Farrell; great-nieces Elisa Farrell, Stacy Farrell, Ashley Kluge Lewis, and Lorrie Kluge; and great-nephew Jim Kluge.
Visitation began at noon Tuesday, April 17, in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville. Funeral services followed at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Pastor Janet Fluth of the Floresville United Methodist Church.
