He is survived by his wife, Shirley Finney; six children, Grayson Finney III (Brenda), Linda Revels (Robert), Leonard Brown, Sharon Diane Richardson (Eugene), Tilithia Brown and William Brown (Angela); 11 grandchildren, Tony Hawkins, Jamhal Hawkins, Corey Finney, Kevin Finney, Tyra Ross, Keith Finney, Jetheda Warren, Gueringe Richardson, William Brown Jr., Lynette Brown and Alesia Brown; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers, George Finney (Mackie), Linwood Finney (Emma) and Oscar Finney; two sisters, Betty Lee and Helen Finney; and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, other relatives and friends, among them devoted friends, David Manley, Stuart Logan and Eddie Nelson.
Remains rested at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St. Funeral service Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 12 noon at Antioch Baptist Church, 1384 New Market Rd. Rev. Dr. James L. Sailes, pastor, officiated. Interment Maury Cemetery.
