Grace Ann (Bond) Harrell was born November 22, 1895 near Alex, Oklahoma, and passed away Thursday morning, November 24, 1938, at the age of 43. She died in a Chickasha hospital of peritonitis following an illness of several weeks.

Funeral services for were conducted Friday afternoon at the Christian Church in Purcell by Rev. C. B. Bryant, pastor.

Music for the service was furnished by a vocal quartet composed of Mrs. C. B. Bryant, Miss Pauline Ozment, Miss Dorothy Neil Dooley and Miss Ruth Barnett, accompanied by Miss Hazel Bryant at the pipe organ. Selections included "Rock of Ages," "God Will Take Care of You," and "O, Yes, He Cares."

Mrs. Harrell was the seventh of ten children born to the late Bart Nolan and Sarah Ann (Basinger) Bond of Lindsay. Her father, a resident of Lindsay for more than thirty years, was a pioneer stockman, farmer and merchant of the Indian Territory. He died in Purcell at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harrell more than a year ago. Mrs. Harrell's mother died about three years ago in Lindsay.

On November 2, 1913, Maxey Harrell and Grace Ann Bond were united in marriage at the home of her parents, Bart Nolan and Sarah Ann Bond, in the old Curty community. Maxey and Grace bought a farm, two miles west and two miles south of Dibble. It was on this farm that their six children were born: William Manton, Christine Frances, Maxine Delma, Dick Merrill, Wanda Lee, and James Kenneth. In 1937, the family moved to Purcell, Oklahoma. Mrs. Harrell became a Christian and united with the Christian church early in life. She fought a good fight, kept the faith and was a devoted worker in the church until her death.

She was preceded in death by two sons, William Manton and Dick Merrill, who died in infancy. Surviving members of her family are her husband, Maxey Harrell, three daughters, Christine Peters of Maud, Oklahoma, Maxine, a student at State Teachers College in Edmond, Oklahoma, Wanda of Purcell, Oklahoma, one son, Kenneth of Purcell, son-in-law, Roy Peters and granddaughter, Marilyn Annette Peters of Maud. Survivors include three brothers, L.R. Bond of Portland, Oregon, Lucas Bond of Visalia, California, and Bart Bond of Monterey, California. She is also survived by five sisters, Mrs. Lela Willard of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. J.D. Harmon and Mrs. Lottie Farley, both of Oklahoma City, Mrs. D.M. Hopkins of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Mrs. Doss Luton of Tulare, California.

Pallbearers for the service were Messrs. Robert N. Alford, Hysie McCarley, Jimmie Ratliff, Mulllins, Leo Cobb and Carl Hopkins.

The Yoakum Funeral Home of Purcell handled the arrangements and interment took place at Greenhill Cemetery in Lindsay.
