Funeral for Gladys Blasingame Thrasher, 88, of Decatur will be Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Williams and Bro. Oscar Gray officiating. Burial will be in Penny Cemetery.
Mrs. Thrasher, who died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital, was born April 9, 1920, in Lawrence County to Claude Blasingame and Margaret Thrasher Blasingame. She was of the Pentecostal faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Thrasher.
She is survived by one son, Wendell D. Thrasher of Trinity; three daughters, Margaret Dotson of Decatur, Peggy Thornton of Gadsden and Deborah Duke of Tampa, Fla; two sisters, Beatrice Hutto of Hillsboro and Kulean Morrison of Jewel, Ga; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
