The Bult Family (Thomas Standard Bult & Louisa Habberfield Bult) emigrated from England Nov 15, 1855 sailing in the good ship Columbia, being six weeks and three days on the ocean, arriving in New York on New Years Day. All of the family came at the same time (Thomas Jr. was 9 months old) except the eldest daughter Martha, but she came the following year. They lived in New York for a period of six years. May 23, 1861 they left for the west in the company of Charles W. Penrose. They traveled by train until they reached Florence Nebraska, then with Ox teams in Captain Horne's company they began their long journey over the plains to Utah. They arrived in Salt Lake City Sept 13, 1861.
Thomas married Emma Louisa Miller in 1876. He died and left his wife & 2 children after a Snow blockade train accident -- (glass to brain injury). See 3-24-1880 Ogden Standard tribute.
