Ivan Louis Boehland was born at Bertha, Minnesota on March 28, 1914 the son of Leo and Ida (Thrun) Boehland.
He grew up and attended school in Bertha. He later farmed in the Bertha area. He was married to Doris Current on June 4, 1939 in Bertha. They made their home on the farm until 1974. Doris died on August 11, 1974. Shortly after that, Ivan moved to a hobby farm in Henning, Minnesota near East Battle Lake. Ivan later moved into the Clement Manor in Henning, Minnesota and on October of 2005, he entered the Henning Health Care Center.
Ivan is survived by a daughter: Sharon (Alex) Conley of Fergus Falls, Minnesota; sisters: Lulu Culver of Monett, Missouri, Edith Herzberg of Mankato, Minnesota, Betty (Les) Schwantz of Bertha, Minnesota; a brother: Arno (Anna Mae) Boehland of Bertha, Minnesota; grandchildren: Alan Conley, Colleen Conley, Darla Yager, and Barry Boehland; and great grandchildren: Alison and Erin Conley, Amanda Yager, and Bailey Boehland.
He is preceded in death by his wife: Doris; a son: Bruce; his parents; and brothers: George, Edwin, Urban, and Ernest.
