About six or seven of their children survived until adulthood: Thomas W. (1879-bef.1900), John J. (1881-aft.1945), Stephen H. (1882-abt.1949), Mary H. (1883-1929), Margaret "May" Rose (1885-abt.1931), Nellie (1890-abt.1952), and Daniel C. (1891-abt.1963).
After marrying, Kate and John Murphy moved to West Springfield, Massachusetts and were members of Immaculate Conception [Catholic] Church. Kate died at their home on Baldwin Street in West Springfield on June 5, 1945 at about the age of 86.
