Berlin Rudolph Chilcote, 67,of Shade Gap R.D., died Thursday, August 31, 1978, at 8:10 a.m., in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. He had been in failing health for the past 10 months.

The son of Rudolph M. and Margaret M. (McMullen) Chilcote, he was born February 12, 1911, in Tell Township, Huntingdon County. He was united in marriage with the former Ruth E. Osborne of Rockhill Furnace on December 7, 1968, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Shade Valley, by the Rev. Kenneth Greiner.

He is survived by his wife; a brother, Lawrence Chilcote of Blairs Mills R.D.; and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Goshorn of Blairs Mills R.D. A daughter and a sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Chilcote was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Shirleysburg Grange No. 119, the Shade Gap Area Fire Company and Knights of Columbus No. 4644 of Huntingdon.

During his lifetime, he engaged in farming.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 4, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Shade Valley. Celebrant will be the Rev. Albert J. Anselmi. Interment will be in Jordan Cemetery, Orbisonia R.D.

Friends may call at the Raymond W. Ott Funeral Home, Orbisonia, from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday and until 1 p.m. Monday.

A memorial service will be held by the Shirlesburg Grange on Sunday at 7 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. and the Knights of Columbus will have a memorial service immediately following the rosary.
