Professional Football Player. For eleven seasons (1975 to 1985), he played at the linebacker position in the National Football League with the Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers. Born Fulton Gerald Kuykendall, he attended St. Patrick High School in California and played collegiate football at UCLA. Selected by the Atlanta Falcons during the 6th round of the 1975 NFL Draft, he totaled 124 career regular season games. During the course of his career, he was known for sacrificing his body in order to make plays which earned him the nickname "Captain Crazy." He died of complications from dementia. His brain was donated to Boston University for the purpose of studying the effects of football and head trauma.
