Janice Roberts Cornett was born August 10, 1943, in Columbus, Georgia to the late Thelma Hanson Bagwell and Cecil Roberts. She married Troy Miron Cornett, Jr. in 1961 and the two were happily married until his passing in 2014. Together they raised two wonderful children and were devoted members of Pine Mountain Valley Church of Christ since 1979.
Janice worked a variety of jobs during her career eventually retiring from the Pine Mountain Valley Post Office. She was known to be a shopaholic and was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldawgs. She loved her favorite tv shows, Hawaii 5-0 and Bluebloods.
Janice R. Cornett, 79, of Cataula, Georgia passed away at her home on Monday, December 12, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Barbara, Caroline, and Debra.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Parkhill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Cox Funeral Home in Hamilton. The Cornett family is being assisted by Cox Funeral Home in Hamilton, Georgia.
