Olympic Champion. He began playing water polo at the age of nine. He started playing for the Hungarian national team in 1970 as a center, and by the time he retired in 1986 he had played in 272 games for them. In 1976 at the Summer Olympics, he won his first Olympic medal, the team gold, and at the 1980 Summer Olympics he secured the team bronze medal. Besides the Olympics he also competed at the World championships winning a gold and 3 silvers, the European Championships winning 2 golds and 1 silver and the Hungarian Championships where he won 9 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze team medal. He was selected to the Hungarian water polo team of the century in 2000. He later became the head coach at Syracuse Palermo until 1990 and then of Vasas-Plaket from 1990 to 1993 and opened a water polo school in 1994 in Budapest with Tamás Faragó. He returned to school and obtained a doctorate in political science and a law degree in 1977. He also starred in the film "Who Talks About Love Here" in 1979.
