Pauleta "Skeeter" (Hicks) Davies passed away peacefully on October 15, 2022, at Comanche County Medical Center.
Pauleta was born to Leta Vick Rich and Howard Paul Hicks on April 16, 1948, in Ector County, Texas.
Pauleta was an entrepreneur most of her life. Her last business was an antique/junk store, which was more of a hobby to her, as one of her favorite pastimes was to go "junkin". Pauleta had a very tough exterior, but beneath all the bluster, she had an extremely soft heart, true compassion, amazing wit, and an endless love for animals. She spent countless hours researching genealogy and she had a passion for helping reunite adopted children and their birth parents.
Pauleta met the love of her life, Russell Leighton Davies, of Clarina Limerick Ireland, and they were married in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 15, 2002. She passed away on what would have been their 20th wedding anniversary.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Russell Leighton Davies, her father, Howard Paul Hicks, her mother, Leta Vick Rich and her sister, Sherran Mae Hayes.
She is survived by her sons, Jimmy and Johnny Simmons, her much beloved dog, Buster, and many friends and relatives that will miss her greatly. Per her wishes, there will be a private celebration of life at a later date.
