Professional Soccer Player. As a center forward role, his name is closely linked to that of Bologna FC, the team he joined in 1954-1955 at the age of 17. He made his eighteen-year-old debut in Serie A and from 1958-1959 formed a pair of offensive outsiders with Marino Perani. He remained at Bologna FC until 1969, with 296 Serie A games and 130 goals. With his team he also won the famous 1964 championship, earned in the play-off with FC Inter, and a Mitropa Cup. Among his many sporting merits, Pascutti held the record for consecutive league goals without penalties (10) for a very long time, broken in 1994 by Gabriel Batistuta. He has 17 appearances in the national team, with which he also scored 8 goals (in addition to 2 appearances and a goal with the national team B). He also participated in two FIFA World Cup, in 1962 and 1966. Despite his undoubted sporting qualities, Pascutti is also remembered for an episode that took place in a meeting of the national team against the USSR on October 13, 1963, he reacted to the harsh treatment reserved for him by full-back Dubinsky, he was sent off in the twenty-third minute, the national team was defeated and eliminated by the Europeans. Since then the reputation of being "the one with the easy punch" stuck to him like a curse, embittering every subsequent sporting victory. Pascutti had only rushed to the Russian defender, but he hadn't touched him. From then on in all the fields of Italy he was regularly insulted and booed, so much so that he took the field with wax plugs in his ears.
