Bobbie was born in Roswell, New Mexico on September 26, 1954 to Bobby Byron and Melba Geraldine Corning Dement. She was the fourth child for the couple, with siblings Diana, Marcia, and James coming before her. The older children called her "the bitty baby" which eventually became "Beede", and was her family name from then on!
The family lived in Roswell until she was 6 years old. She started the first grade at Parkview Elementary. The family moved to San Angelo, Texas and then to Forsan, Texas before finally settling in Big Spring,Texas. She attended Boydstun Elementary until Grade 6 and then went to Runnels Junior for grades seven through nine, Freshman. She attended Big Spring High School her Sophmore through Senior years. She graduated in May, 1972. During high school she played on the Tennis team and also starting working at Burger Chef in Big Spring.
She and her friends, Vicki Parks and Linda Hargrove, then ventured out in the world! They moved to Austin, Texas where her brother Jay and his wife Jolene had moved earlier. They got an apartment and found jobs in Austin. She loved telling stories of their years together. One was about being invited to a party by Willie Nelson! He lived in the same apartment building and invited them. They did not attend the party—but sure makes a good story telling about it! Another one was how she always wanted a Volkswagen Beetle—as her sister Marcy had one earlier and she loved it! Eventually this dream came true as she bought a Volkswagen Beetle that was RED!
Perhaps her greatest asset, and what everyone who knew her recognized, is that she was so kind. She was a quiet, very spiritual person, who wore a cross necklace for her whole life. And had a collection of crosses on her wall at home. They were very beautiful. And she always had time and a smile for everyone and loved all animals. (She had six dogs at one time!) Her laugh was quick and very contagious! She just made you feel good!!
She was very talented and creative with crafts. She made beautiful painted shirts and jewelry and sold it online and at arts and crafts shows. She loved music and became an avid collector of vinyl albums. And she also developed a love a genealogy and she and her mother began researching the families. They had hundreds, if not thousands, of pages of research and pictures. She was an excellent researcher and helped many other people do the same. Her mother, Melba, had moved to Mississippi and she visited frequently. And on these travels she visited hundreds of libraries, cemeteries, old family homes, etc. on the way. And took hundreds of pictures! She inherited her Mother's genealogy records, which eventually went to her siblings, John, Marcy, and Dana.
In 1972 she went to work at the University of Texas in the Grounds Maintenance Office. While working there, she met and married Sam Simpson. The Simpsons fell in love with her, and she was very close to her mother-in-law, Frances. At some point, Nancy came to work in the office and they became lifelong friends! While working at UT her daughter, Sami Lynn was born on May 20, 1981. Someone had hit the "Golden Buzzer" that day! Sami Lynn was the greatest joy Bobbie had ever known!! She was an excellent Mom and devoted the rest of her life to her daughter!
After a brief leave, she went back to work. She took work very seriously and was very good at her job. She worked there until she retired—very early retirement! After retiring, she spent many days and hours with her husband Sam, and daughter, Sami—travelling and visiting friends and family. And, of course, looking for artifacts and taking pictures of past generations of both sides of her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brothers Cloys and James, her nephew Adam Wright, and her in-laws Frances and Loy. She leaves her husband Sam; her daughter, Sami Lynn; two sisters, Dana (George) and Marcy; one brother, John (Nikki) and numerous other relatives and friends And I guarantee you, EVERYONE WHO EVER KNEW HER MISSES HER on this earth!!
Bobbie was a very strong and brave lady! She was cured of cancer twice over a period of eight or ten years. She became friends with other patients in the chemo unit and even made different head coverings – crocheted caps and scarves for them. But she fell ill with pneumonia in 2022 and left her earthly home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 26, 2022. At her request, there was no funeral service and her cremains were privately dispersed in Texas.

Fly high, Earth Angel, for now you are a Heavenly Angel!

Death leaves a heart ache no one can heal
Loves leaves a memory no one can steal.
If there is one person on this earth that remembers you, you will never be lost
