Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. for Mr. George Burleigh, 83, of Sunset who died at his home Saturday at 5:15 a.m. The services will be held in the First Baptist Church of Sunset, with interment to follow in Bellevue Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include a wife, Beatrice (Stanford) Burleigh of Sunset; four daughters, Mrs. Milken (Louetta) Young of Eunice, Mrs. James (Violet) Cushman of Opelousas, Mrs. Houston (Regina) Thibodeaux of Opelousas and Mrs. L.P. (Estelle) Burleigh of Sunset; three brothers, Lucuis Burleigh of Port Arthur, Ignatuis Burleigh of Sunset and Ben Burleigh of Church Point; three sisters, Mrs. Elrick (Amanda) Courville of Sunset, Rita Burleigh of Sunset and Mrs. Victor (Olivia) Kilchrest of Lafayette; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Burleigh was a deacon with the First Baptist Church of Sunset.
