Well-Known Resident of Decoria Died
Suddenly in Minneapolis This Morning.
Landkamer Bros. today received a telegram from Minneapolis requesting them to have their undertaker at the depot when the train arriving here at 8:06 p.m. pulls into the station and take charge of the remains of Mrs. August Thrun, who died suddenly in Minneapolis this morning. She was at the home of her daughter Mrs. George Dunkelbeck. She was sixty years old and leaves a husband and several grown, up children. The family resides in Decoria. MFP, 1/29/1913.

The funeral of Mrs. August Thrun,
who died at the home of her daughter in Minneapolis, will be held at the family home in Decoria at 12:30 Saturday: and at 1:30 P. m. in the Decoria German Lutheran church. The interment will be made in the Decoria cemetery. MFP, 1/30/1913
OBITUARY, Mrs. August Thrun, whose maiden name was Annie Kirchofer, was borm in Milwaukee, WI on Aug 13, 1855. She lived In Milwaukee until 1870, when she came to Mankato and worked in the home of the late Leo Lamm. In 1872 she was married to Peter Schumacher, then of Lime Township. Three children were born to them, two of whom died. George Schumacher, who lives in Decoria Township, this county, is the surviving son.
In 1877 Mr. Schumacher died, and the deceased moved to her old home at Milwaukee, where on Mar 13, 1879 she married August Thrun who survives her. Six children, three boys and three girls, were born of this union; Ernest, Frederick, Tillie, Ida, Henry and Bertha. The first four are married. Besides her husband and children, Mrs. Thrun is survived by five sisters and one brother, and eleven grandchildren.
The deceased suffered a stroke, of paralysis six years ago and another one two years ago. She suffered a third stroke on January 28 which proved fatal. She was visiting at the home of her daughter Tillie in Minneapolis at the time of her death.
Mrs. Thrun suffered much in her six years of illness, and although everything possible was done by her family to relieve her, it was of no avail. She has made a large circle of very dear friends during her life, who all mourn the loss of a loved friend, mother and wife. May she rest in peace. MFP, 2/5/1913
