Note: Husband of Augusta A. Raether. Excerpt from her 1858 obituary "she was united in marriage with Fred Thrun and they established their home where Mr. Thrun passed away April 11, 1956. To this union were born three daughters, Mrs. Charles Cramer Verna of Mapleton; Edna, Mrs. Merlin Cords, of Decoria; and Alma, Mrs. Merlin Marzinske, of Decoria, who survive. There are two grandsons, Ronald Marzinske and Delmar Cords and two granddaughters, Marcene Marzinske and Darlene Cramer and one great-grandchild, Randy Cords."
