Mrs. Mary Colleen Jones, 71, of Winona, died of cancer Saturday morning, October 18, 1997, at her residence on Herring Street in Winona.
Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church near Winona. She was also a member of the Winona American Legion Auxiliary. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abner A. Sanders. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Nola Lindley; and by three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 20, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Rupert Ingram officiating assisted by the Rev. Morris Jones. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Lois W. Jones of Winona; one daughter, Sandra Baglio of Bunkie, La.; one son, Austin Richardson Jones of Crowley, La.; three sisters, Juanita Cummins of Jackson, Sue Sykes and Melba Gates, both of Lake Charles, La.; one brother, Louis Albert Sanders of Kilmichael; 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Richard W. Jones, Michael Cresswell, Michael Jones, Grady Paul Jones, Jimmy Cresswell, and Trinity Jones. Honorary pallbearer was Austin Joseph Jones.
Oliver Funeral Home of Winona was in charge of arrangements.
