Born in Plainview, Texas to Charlie and Marie Dove, Life Nathan (LN or Lin) Dove grew up in Dickens County. Afton, Texas was home and Lin was raised on music, hard work, and family values.

Lin played basketball and football at Patton Springs School.

At age 17, Lin enlisted in the US Air Force and excelled at radio communications and repair. He stood out to his superiors and tested in to Officer Candidacy School to become an aviator and navigator. Lin first flew C-130's at Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX, where he met and married Linda Gail Zirkle Dove in 1961. Lin was then assigned to the amazing "Firebirds" squadron, flying LC-130 ("ski" model) throughout the Arctic. While stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, AK, Lin and Linda adopted their daughter Leslie Ann Dove Urbanovsky. Before Vietnam, Lin was assigned to an RF-4C squadron. Lin was a Navigator/WSO and flew reconnaissance missions all over Southeast Asia. Returning stateside after Vietnam, Lin was stationed at Bergstrom AFB, in Austin, TX. In Austin, Lin and Linda adopted their son, Leif Alan Dove. After a decorated 20-year Air Force career, Lin retired in Austin and set out to continue his education. Lin attended Southwest Texas State University (Texas State University now) and finished his bachelor's degree. He then attended St. Edward's University and earned a Master's Degree in finance and accounting. While studying for his CPA exam, Lin took a position as a security officer at the Texas State Capitol. He worked nights and mostly studied while monitoring surveillance cameras throughout the Capitol complex. Just as he passed his CPA exam, Texas Capitol Police (now DPS Capitol District) learned more about Lin's military career and offered him a position as a Texas Peace Officer. Lin attended the police academy and served Capitol Police and the Texas Department of Public Safety until his retirement 18 years later.

Retired again now in Austin, Lin and Linda really retired and focused enormous amounts of time and resources doting on their grandchildren, Morgan Urbanovsky, Mitchell Urbanovsky, Natalie Dove, and Shelby Dove. Lin and Linda enjoyed 53 years of marriage until Linda passed away in 2014. Following the loss of his wife, Lin was embraced by Bee Creek United Methodist Church, where he become very active in the Emmaus Community, Adult Sunday School, 4th Day Groups, Grow Groups, and filled a seat in in worship every Sunday. Bee Creek UMC became a place of growth and service for Lin and his contributions to ministry and all his relationships there are pure blessings to the family.

Life Nathan Dove will rest in peace with his beloved wife Linda Dove at the Texas Veteran's Cemetery, near Ft. Hood, Texas.
