He was wounded in the on the the 3rd day of May, 1864 in a battle near Resacca by a minnie ball. He was taken to the hospital at Covington, Georgia and stayed there about 2 months he was carried home and lived until the 25th day of November 1865 and died from the effects of the wound received in the Battle at or near Resacca, Georgia.
