Phyllis was the owner of All About Flowers of Cherryville. She also worked at Carlton Mills and Beam's Rest Home. She loved her family and friends, and loved to make people smile, which she did very well. Phyllis was a life-long member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she wore many hats.
She is survived by her four children; Robin McSwain Sigmon and husband Don, Denise McSwain Burress and husband Randy, James "Jamie" David McSwain, Jr. and wife Pam all of Cherryville, and Kristi McSwain Williford and husband Eric of Waxhaw; Sister, Elaine Allen Barrett of Belmont; 17 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Margaret McSwain Sigmon and husband Richard, and Martha McSwain Beam; brother-in-law A.L. McSwain and wife Shirley; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James David McSwain, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Kim Gibson McSwain; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; and a grandson, Casey Jay Blackwelder.
Per Phyllis' wishes, a private graveside service, for close family and friends, will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
