Richard Glen Allison of Waco, a man of God, joined his Savior in heaven at age 64. Ricky touched countless lives throughout Central Texas and abroad. He was a servant to all and selfless in all aspects of his life. He sought to bring a smile to the face of others and comfort to each and every person he encountered.

Ricky’s spent an extensive career with HEB, Con-way, and XPO Logistics where he worked as a driver and technician. His drive and strong work ethic ensured he was recognized by his previous employers and created the opportunity for him to establish life-long friendships with both coworkers and supervisors alike.

Ricky also served as a member of the Bosqueville ISD School Board for a number of years. Aside from the general duties of a board member, Ricky found the opportunity to engage faculty, staff, and students in a variety of ways. From helping with campus projects to advocating for students to driving a school bus, Ricky took every opportunity that he could to demonstrate kindness and compassion to each person he had the opportunity to meet.

To say that Ricky has a love for working would be an understatement. When Ricky was not driving or helping a friend, you could find him working on any number of woodworking projects. It was common for those closest to him to receive a hand-made, unique treasure of his own creation as a gift. Each item that he made was crafted with love and thought – beautifully unique in its own right – just as Ricky was.

Most of all, Ricky was a family man in the truest sense of the phrase. Right or wrong, good or bad, win or lose, Ricky stood by each and every member of his family. For him, the family did not stop along bloodlines – Ricky was willing to (and did) welcome many people in his “family.” Yet, he held his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild in the highest regard. He showed them the value of love, compassion, forgiveness, and a relationship with Jesus.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Judy, of Waco; sister, Becky Chapa, of Schertz; son, Eric Allison and wife, Christy, of Hewitt; daughter, Alicia Wilson, and husband, Michael, of Hewitt. He is also survived by granddaughters Kaylyn Allison, Kasey Taylor, Tru Wilson, and Abby Wilson; grandsons Ethan Allison and Michael Wilson; great-grandson Tanner Lowe.

Family visitation will be held at Connally/Compton Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Services will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at 10:00 AM. He will be interred at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, Texas.
