Avis Mae Adkins
Avis Mae Bobbitt Adkins, 81, of Silsbee, died Monday, August 24, 2020. She was born on December 21, 1938, in Newton, to Pearl Mae Fullen Bobbitt and J.B. Bobbitt.
Survivors include her children, Marilyn Kay Fountain Teichman of North Carolina; Bridgette Sue Fountain of Port Arthur; and Maurice Scott Fountain of Silsbee; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Johnny Bobbitt of Chariton, Louisiana; and sister, Sybil Bobbitt of Houma, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, C.T. "Speddy" Adkins.
A gathering of Mrs. Adkins' family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 5:00 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2020, at Broussard's, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery, Buna.
The family would like to send a special thank you to daughter-in-law, Lanell Fountain, for the many years of caring for our mother in her later years. The family would also like to thank the staff of Silsbee Oaks for all their tireless love and care that was given to their mom during her stay.
