Ms. Ida graduated from Boston High School, Norman Junior College in Norman Park and Tulane University of New Orleans, Louisiana. She worked as a professional most of her life, retiring from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers of New Orleans, La. in 1985. She and her husband returned to Boston, Ga. where they made their home for almost 35 years. They were dedicated members of Salem Baptist Church in Pavo, Ga.
Ida and her husband, Wyatt were married for 54 years when he preceded her in death in July, 2005. She leaves behind her daughter, Pat Ramey, Augusta, Ga, and son Roger Butler (Roy) Knoxville, TN , grandsons Stephen Bright (Crystal) Augusta, GA., Michael Ramey, Charleston, SC, Mathew Ramey, Augusta, Ga., and great-grandson, Maddox Bright, Augusta, Ga. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Frances Vinson (Jim) and a great number of nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are handled by Allen and Allen Funeral Home of Thomasville, Georgia. Visitation will be Thursday, July 30, 2020, from 6:00-8:00pm, at Allen and Allen with graveside services on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Hwy 84 in Thomasville, Ga. at 1:00 pm.
