CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA - Cora Austin Martin, 82, died Tuesday, August 7, 2007 in Select Specialty Hospital-Tri-Cities, Bristol, Virginia.
She was born in Wilder, Virginia; daughter of the late John Henry and Myrtle Brooks Austin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Vernon Martin; two daughters, Charlotte Butts and Nancy Jessee; two sisters and six brothers; She was a member of Morning Star Church in Castlewood, Virginia.
She is survived by one daughter, Darlene Mann and husband, Larry of Castlewood, Virginia; one granddaughter, Denise Burns of Castlewood, Virginia; two grandsons, Anthony Cornett of Castlewood, Virginia and Michael Salyer of Salem, Virginia; one sister, Barbara Sue Hall of Castlewood, Virginia; six brothers, Marvin Austin, Jerry Austin, Leland Austin, Larry Austin all of Castlewood, Virginia, Ronald Austin of Salem, Virginia, and Kennie Austin of Roanoke, Virginia; son-in-law, Roger Jessee of Castlewood, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Cora Austin Martin will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2007, in the Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Woody Scott, Rev. Marvin Cain, Rev. Robbie White, and Rev. Clifford Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Anthony Cornett, Michael Salyer, Jason Gilbert, Jerry Linkous, Mark Trent, and Tony Mullins; honorary pallbearers will be Spencer Foster, Roger Jessee, and Herbert Scott.
