Tony was born on February 6, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York to his parents Teresa and Frank Alessio. He had 5 beautiful sisters and was married to his beloved wife Anita on April 19, 1953.
Tony served in the Korean War and upon returning to Brooklyn he owned a printing company in New York City. He sang in a Barbershop Chorus, played the mandolin and could always be heard whistling a tune or telling jokes to make people smile.
Tony is survived by his children, Frank Alessio married to Lisa, and Michael Alessio married to Donna. He has 5 grandchildren, Christine married to Eric Birnbaum, Susanne Alessio, Lauren married to Nick Bruno, Anthony Alessio and Samantha married to Eric Fraschilla. He also has 7 great grandchildren: Aiden, Alexa, Isabella, Giuliana, Angelina, Francesca and Nicholas. He also leaves behind a sister, Annie Fiandra and countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tony is predeceased by his wife Anita who died in October of 2009. The funeral will be held on Thursday February 13 from 7-9 at Colonial Funeral Home on Staten Island and from 2-4 and 7-9 on February 14th. A church service will take place at 9:30 on Saturday February 15th at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Staten Island. “All my life I’ll keep with me the memories of us two, and how lucky we have been to have a papa just like you”.
