Prominent for many years in Pomona church and organization activities, Mrs. Bertha S. Barnum, wife of Herbert W. Barnum passed away at the family home at 6:10 p.m. Friday after about six weeks of illness. She was born April 2, 1874, in Brandon, N.Y. Prior to coming to California in 1908 she lived in Burlington and Northfield. Vt. and North Bangor, N.Y., where her husband was with the Central Vermont and Rutland Railroads. Mr. and Mrs. Barnum came to Pomona from Burlington. Vt., and he was Southern Pacific agent here until his retirement in 1938 after 47 years of railroading. Besides her husband, H. W. Barnum, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Paul T. Barnum of San Gabriel, and a granddaughter, Louise M. Barnum of San Gabriel. Entombment will be made in Pomona Mausoleum.
