He was born in Wareham and lived there most of his life. He graduated from Southeastern Massachusetts University. Mr. Baptista was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Baptista worked as a Lab Technician for many years before retiring. He enjoyed sports and reading.
Survivors include his son, Charles Baptista of Hickory, NC; 2 daughters, Charlee Baptista and Carla Texeira both of Wareham; 2 sisters, Reaca Huffman of Catawba, NC and Juliette Roderick of West Wareham; 4 grandchildren, Miles Watson, David Silva, Patrice Baptista, and Caleb Baptista; 5 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
