Reaca Velma Baptista Huffman, 78, of Catawba passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, at her son's residence. Born Dec. 10, 1939, in Plymouth County, Mass., she was the daughter of the late James Frank and Elvira Lopes Baptista.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Huffman; grandson, Colby Dobritz; and brother, Charles Baptista.

She is survived by her daughter, Reaca Honaker and husband, Lee of Lincolnton; two sons, Tommy Dobritz and wife, Pam, and Tim Dobritz and wife, Teresa, both of Catawba; two stepdaughters, Pam Rice of Connelly Springs, Jackie Little and husband, James, of Claremont; two stepsons, Mike Huffman of Catawba, Buddy Huffman and wife, Brenda, of Claremont; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; sister, Juliette Roderick and husband, Julio, of Massachusetts; three nieces and two nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 2 p.m., at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Catawba, with Pastor Garry White officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Burke Mortuary in Newton.
